What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Manager position at Buttermilk sky farm?
We are looking for a capable contracted employee who can oversee our farm! Buttermilk sky farm is an all organic small scale operation. Producing everything from salad greens to fruit from our orchard trees.
Daily manager duties would include making sure everyone is on task for the day, plants are being watered and taken care of, any upkeep with weeding and harvesting needs to be taken care of, special landscaping areas weeded and or cutback for plants completed
There are birds on site; ducks, chickens and turkeys which will need to be overseen as well. Any poultry expertise is recommended but not required. Every year we also harvest apples and grapes which will be pressed for juice at the end of season.
looking for someone with
- degree in agriculture, nursery management or any farming experience
- someone who can set weekend schedules for other employees
- ability to sit and weed areas for long periods of time
- seeds to harvest farming experience
- organic farming experience
- ability to lift 50 lbs
- kindness for our animals and a willingness to learn!
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
