Hourly Rate : $22.00-$24.50 / hour
Position Summary :
The School & Virtual Programs Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and execution of onsite school groups and virtual learning programming.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
In collaboration with Registration Manager, coordinate school program staff, volunteers and interns, school field trip logistics, bug orders, and troubleshoot operational issues as neededProvide training and coaching for program staff, interns, and volunteers to facilitate exemplary programming for school programsSupport smooth logistics for school groups by training and coordinating staff, volunteers, and interns to greet and orient arriving groups (and serve as backup field trip greeter as needed)Work collaboratively with Curatorial and other departments for school program resources (animals, plants, etc.)Maintain inventory of program supplies, materials, and equipment while staying within allotted budgetSupport departmental marketing needs, including creating emails and webpagesWork within ATMS to provide additional registration support when neededSupport in the development of programs which apply best practices for equity and inclusion in informal education to inspire guests to learn more and be stewards to help conserve invertebrates and habitatsDevelop and lead innovative virtual learning programming in line with Butterfly Pavilion learning framework reaching a wide range of ages, abilities, and locationsResearch and develop best practices in virtual learningStay current on newest and industry standard platforms, learning management systems, and other technology related to supporting growth of virtual learningSupport implementation of strategic plan to strategically expand virtual learning to emerging marketsIdentify and create partnerships to support programming as neededSupport development and coordination of virtual learning budgetSupport fund development in the identification and obtainment of grants and scholarships towards the growth and accessibility of virtual learning programsTeach onsite school programs and virtual programs when needed and lead logisticsAdditional responsibilities
Attend required branch and facility meetings and trainingCollaborate with other departments to plan, develop, and implement new services and troubleshoot issues to ensure organizational cohesionBe professionally active, attending seminars, conferences and continuing educational opportunities that are applicable to the positionCross-train to provide program support in other areas (interpretation) as necessarySupport an intern as assignedOther duties as assignedCompetencies :

Degree in education, environmental sciences, natural resources or related fieldComfortable interacting with guests from diverse backgrounds.Fluency with computer software, scheduling and database programs including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Zoom.Excellent customer service, organization, and communication skillsAbility to effectively manage a virtual, in-person, or hybrid classroom of up to 50 childrenEnthusiastic, fun, and patientSolution-oriented, ability to troubleshootAdaptable to different teaching environmentsComputer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and video conferencing tools / softwareExperience :
Experience coordinating logistics and schedules2-3 years of experience working with groups of school-aged children in a camp, school, or childcare settingPrior experience working with individuals of different ages and abilitiesPrior experience in a customer service-based roleExperience with curriculum development and program planningFamiliarity with Colorado Academic Standards and Next Generation Science StandardsComfort with video conferencing and virtual education tools / softwareAdditional Requirements :
CPR and First Aid certified within a year of hire or before the primary teaching season, whichever occurs firstWork Environment / Physical Requirements :
