Full Time Cafe Associate

We are searching for reliable, trustworthy, engaging, people first, team oriented cafe associate who is passionate about food and coffee preparation. In this role, you will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders, accept payments, and prepare drinks and serve baked items. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation.

To succeed as a Cafe Associate, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable and understand that in food service, you need to move quickly and be consistent.

Cafe Associate Responsibilities:

• Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
• Completing guest orders by packaging baked goods, brewing coffee and tea, creating custom beverages, and serving items to customers.
• Preparing, Packaging food and beverages for sale.
• Selling coffee and tea blends, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods.
• Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
• Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
• Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
• Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

Barista Requirements:

• Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.
• Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
• Exceptional listening and communication skills.
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Availability to work around peak hours, including late afternoons, mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• A polite, fun and engaging personality.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction, pride in the product you serve and service excellence.
• Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.

HOURS:

In this position, we are currently seeking a candidate to work from Wednesday to Sunday from ranging 7:00 AM-3:30pm. Weekends are vital to this location. This position will be up to 40 hours per week. On occasion you may be asked to work at our full service cafe in the Tanger Outlets to train or assist.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
