About Butte Rescue Mission
Founded in 1976, Butte Rescue Mission is a privately funded 501 (c)3 non-profit, faith based ministry dedicated to fulfilling our mission statement and functions serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and addiction in Southwest Montana.
Position Summary
The Development Director leads fundraising and donor engagement efforts for Butte Rescue Mission. This role is responsible for building strong donor relationships, managing fundraising strategies, and securing financial support to sustain and grow the Mission’s programs. The position works closely with the Executive Director and plays a key role in advancing the Mission’s vision.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development
- Develop and carry out annual fundraising plans and revenue goals
- Manage major gifts, annual giving, events, direct mail, grants, and campaigns
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors (individuals, churches, businesses, and foundations)
- Grow recurring and planned giving programs
- Maintain accurate donor records and stewardship practices
Donor Relations & Communications
- Build long-term relationships with donors and partners
- Create compelling fundraising messages and materials
- Coordinate donor communications, events, and public relations efforts
- Represent Butte Rescue Mission at community meetings and events
Leadership & Administration
- Support and collaborate with the Executive Director on development priorities
- Help prepare fundraising reports and budget input
- Manage and support development staff and systems
- Participate in leadership team meetings and staff gatherings
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising or development
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Comfortable making one on one donor meetins and calls
- Proficient with donor databases and Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Grant writing and event experience a plus

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent long term work experience in related filed (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising or Philanthropy)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
