Job Summary
Provides role as patient advocate through his/ /her own role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, interacting and providing/assisting in groups
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains 15 minute check log or 15 minute electronic medical record documentation according to departmental procedure. Completes the following security procedures according to departmental procedures:
Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
Candidate must have excellent written skills.
Excellent communication skills.
External candidates: must have C.N.A certification.
Internal candidates: must have or complete C.N.A. certification within 6 months of accepting position.
Schedule: 20/40 Part Time Evenings- Every Other Weekend

Duties & Responsibilities
- Safe management of patient belongings/valuables/medications.
- Obtains vital signs and records them according to departmental procedures.
- Performs supportive activities that facilitate the timely and efficient assessment of the patient by clinicians/physicians.
- Provides teaching for patients and families regarding rights of patients.
- Observe assigned patients and report any patient care problem, change in patient condition or unexpected occurrences to RN/Team Leader.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
