The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for supporting shop operations by organizing, maintaining, and distributing tools, equipment, and supplies. This entry-level role ensures welders and fabricators have the resources they need to perform their work efficiently and safely.

Job Title: Entry-Level Tool Room Attendant

Position Description Summary:
The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for supporting shop operations by organizing, maintaining, and distributing tools, equipment, and supplies. This entry-level role ensures welders and fabricators have the resources they need to perform their work efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of tool inventory, weld wire, consumables, and usage.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the tool room in a safe and orderly manner
- Assist with stocking and restocking supplies (grinding discs, welding wire, PPE, etc.)
- Create purchase requisitions for materials that are needed.
- Track and coordinate tool repairs and replacements
- Support basic maintenance of shop equipment as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Assist supervisors or leads with additional tasks as assigned
- Assist with creating inventory usage reports.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 0-2years experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or shop environment (preferred but not required)
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools (welding/fabrication tools a plus)
- Ability to learn inventory tracking systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
