Job Summary
Butler Tech is seeking experienced trades professionals to step into an instructional role and help prepare adult learners for careers in manufacturing. This position involves leading hands-on training within our Business & Industry programs, focusing on real-world skills in areas such as welding, machining, or electro-mechanical systems.
If you’ve built strong expertise in your trade, we’ll support you in translating that experience into effective teaching.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver Hands-On Training: Lead lab/shop instruction that reflects real industry practices
- Teach Core Concepts: Help students understand technical processes, tools, and systems
- Mentor Adult Learners: Support students as they build confidence and transition into new careers
- Bridge Theory & Practice: Connect classroom instruction to real-world applications
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a relevant trade or an associate degree in a related field
- Mindset: Passion for teaching and a student-focused approach
- Professionalism: Reliable work history and ability to pass a background check
- Basic Tech Skills: Comfortable with email and everyday workplace technology
- Licensure Support: No teaching license required to start—we’ll help you obtain one
Areas of Expertise (Need 1 )
- Machining / CNC: Programming, milling, lathes, blueprint reading (NIMS or CAD/CAM experience a plus)
- Welding: SMAW, MIG, TIG, FCAW, with knowledge of AWS standards and safety practices
- Electro-Mechanical / Mechatronics: PLCs, motors, fluid power, and industrial control systems (NEC or NCCER a plus)
