What are the responsibilities and job description for the Constitutional & Civil Rights Litigation Attorney - Baton Rouge, LA position at Butler Snow LLP?
Butler Snow LLP is seeking candidates interested in joining our litigation team in Baton Rouge in the position of Counsel or Senior Counsel (title determination commensurate with experience). This team maintains a national practice with an emphasis on federal court class actions. The firm is interested in candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
What you will do:
- Be a strategic part of a defense litigation team committed to providing excellent representation to our clients
- Participate in trial preparation include case strategy, discovery, records review, client and witness interviews
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare and argue motions
- Write compelling and thoroughly researched briefs and legal memorandums
- Research and analyze complex litigation areas
What you bring:
- 4-5 years of experience in defense litigation;
- Expertise in taking and defending depositions;
- Ability to research and investigate complex litigation areas;
- Excellent writing abilities
- License to practice law in Louisiana.
