Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST) & Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

About the Position:
Butler Rescue Hands, Inc. is seeking dependable and experienced Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILSTs) and Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to support a female client with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in Ansonia, Connecticut.
Available Shifts:
- 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Responsibilities include:
- Providing hands-on assistance with daily living activities (ADLs/IADLs)
- Supporting medication reminders, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
- Assisting with mobility, transfers, and personal care
- Encouraging participation in therapy, activities, and community engagement
- Documenting daily progress and maintaining accurate records
- Promoting independence, safety, and dignity at all times
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience working with ABI/TBI or related conditions is a MUST
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
- Must pass a background check and reference verification
Preferred for ILST Applicants:
- Minimum 2 years of ABI/TBI experience
- Strong communication, motivation, and behavioral support skills
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience and certification
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
