Job DescriptionServe as a senior associate handling a docket of wage-and-hour, employment, and consumer class and representative actions in Washington and California state and federal courtsLead and manage all phases of litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparationDraft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions, oppositions, and complex briefs in state and federal courtsTake and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts, and prepare clients and witnesses for testimonyConduct sophisticated legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law and provide clear, strategic analyses to the team and clientsCollaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to manage class cases, representative actions, and high-volume litigation efficientlyCommunicate regularly with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel, and represent clients in hearings, conferences, and settlement negotiationsMentor junior attorneys and support staff, contributing to the training and development of the Seattle officeQualificationsLicensed to practice law in California or Washington, or licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the California or Washington Bar3-5 years of civil litigation experience, with substantial experience in discovery, motion practice, oral advocacy, and taking/defending depositionsPrior experience with class actions, complex litigation, or wage-and-hour/ employment cases is strongly preferredStrong written advocacy skills with a track record of drafting high-quality motions, briefs, and discoveryConfident in court, at depositions, and in negotiations, with excellent analytical and strategic thinking skillsAbility to manage a busy litigation docket, meet strict deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, impact-driven environmentProfessional, steady, and reliable work history, with mature judgment and client-facing skillsWillingness to travel occasionally for hearings, depositions, and case-related needs
