Job Description Overview
The Highway Superintendent is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, administration, and operation of the Butler County Highway Department. This position directs the maintenance, repair, improvement, and construction of county roads, bridges, drainage structures, gravel pit and related infrastructure. The Highway Superintendent oversees department personnel, equipment, budgeting, project management, regulatory compliance, and emergency response activities while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the county transportation system.
The Highway Superintendent works closely with the Butler County Board of Supervisors, state and federal agencies, contractors, engineers, landowners, and the public to maintain and improve transportation infrastructure throughout Butler County.
