Position Title: MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Position Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications initiatives that elevate the visibility, reputation, and impact of Butler County United Way. This position leads the organization's brand management, public relations, digital marketing, storytelling, donor communications, and special event promotion while ensuring consistent messaging across all communication channels.
Working collaboratively with all departments, the Marketing Manager translates organizational priorities into compelling communications that strengthen relationships with donors, volunteers, corporate partners, community organizations, and the public. This position also serves as the primary administrator for communication-related functions within the organization's CRM (Andar), providing donor insights, segmentation, reporting, and communication support that enhance fundraising and engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications Strategy (50%)
- Develop and implement comprehensive annual marketing and communications plans aligned with Butler County United Way's strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with the President & CEO to establish short- and long-term marketing strategies that advance organizational goals and increase community awareness.
- Develop messaging that effectively communicates the organization's mission, strategic initiatives, community impact, and funding priorities.
- Partner with Resource Development to create integrated donor communication strategies that strengthen donor acquisition, stewardship, and retention.
- Collaborate with Community Impact to communicate program outcomes, community needs, and measurable impact through compelling storytelling.
- Oversee the organization's brand identity and ensure consistency across all printed, digital, and multimedia communications.
- Develop and manage content for newsletters, annual reports, direct mail, website, email marketing, social media, advertising, and other communication platforms.
- Manage media relations, prepare press releases, coordinate interviews, and cultivate relationships with local media outlets.
- Monitor marketing performance, evaluate communication effectiveness, and recommend improvements based on data and analytics.
- Stay informed of emerging marketing trends and recommend innovative approaches that enhance community engagement and organizational visibility.

Event Marketing and Coordination (30%)
- Plan, coordinate, and execute organizational events from concept through completion.
- Collaborate with staff to establish event goals, timelines, budgets, and marketing strategies.
- Coordinate logistics including venues, vendors, catering, audiovisual needs, sponsorship recognition, registration, and volunteer support.
- Develop and implement promotional campaigns that maximize attendance, sponsorship visibility, and community engagement.
- Evaluate event outcomes and recommend improvements for future events.

CRM Management and Data Analysis (10%)
- Maintain the integrity of communication-related data within the Andar CRM system.
- Generate donor lists, mailing lists, reports, and communication segments that support fundraising and marketing initiatives.
- Analyze donor and stakeholder data to identify communication opportunities, trends, and engagement strategies.
- Produce regular reports on campaign performance, donor communications, and marketing effectiveness.

Organizational Support (10%)
- Serve as an active member of the Butler County United Way team by supporting organizational initiatives, campaigns, and community engagement efforts.
- Attend community meetings, partner events, and public presentations as assigned.
- Provide exceptional customer service to donors, volunteers, community partners, and staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned that support the mission and strategic goals of Butler County United Way.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in nonprofit marketing, fundraising communications, or community engagement is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Butler County and the local media landscape is desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (or comparable design software), CRM databases, email marketing platforms, website content management systems, and social media management tools.

Work Environment

Compensation
Salary is approximately $50,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
