What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Clerk position at Butler County Commissioners?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Under direction of the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), draft and distribute Board meeting agendas and resolutions, ensuring completeness and accuracy; process resolutions following Board action (e.g., track vote, close resolution in software system, publish and file final resolutions, etc.); maintain meeting minute books; prepare legal and public notices; prepare briefing book prior to meeting; obtain necessary signatures; certify resolutions; and regularly complete statutorily required Clerk of the Board duties.
- Log, file and respond to public records requests under the supervision of the Designated Records Custodian, maintain file of official record; collaborate with Clerk of the Board to assist in developing policies and executing procedures for accurate recordkeeping and maintenance of the official record of the BOCC; receive and process ditch petitions and liquor license requests; receive, record, and maintain performance bonds; scan and file official documents such as mandatory annual reports; and assist Commissioners’ clerical staff and handle telephone inquiries as needed.
- Work on special projects as directed; provide clerical and administrative support to the Administrative Departments as directed; create and maintain an electronic index of statutorily required activity of the BOCC and import individual records; maintain statutory record retention schedule and dispose of records; maintain audio downloads and indexing of Commission Meetings; maintain the Commissioners website for content related to Commission Meetings; coordinate annual budget hearings and budget books.
- Meet all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED; or
- More than 1 year of experience, public-sector experience preferred; or
- Any combination of education, experience and/or training equivalent to the stated minimum qualifications.
Pay: $23.42 - $33.07 per hour
