Butler Automatic is the inventor of automatic splicing, and the largest global manufacturer of automatic web splicing equipment for food, pharmaceutical, printing and consumer packaged goods markets. The company’s splicers are used to manufacture many different products including stand-up pouches, flexible pouches, film bags, paper bags, business forms, envelopes, disposable diapers, wallpaper, fiberglass insulation, and corrugated cardboard.
Butler Automatic is seeking a Shipping Clerk. They will be responsible for the coordination, safe handling and timely delivery of outgoing products to our customers domestically and internationally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pick parts and process customer orders for shipment through our ERP system
- Prepare all shipment documents, packing slips, bills of lading, and customs forms, etc.
- Manage the flow of outgoing goods to domestic and international destinations to ensure on time delivery metrics and shipping quotas are met
- Communicate effectively with brokers, freight companies and customers to ensure packages are delivered in accordance with customers instructions
- Package goods securely with consideration for external handling
- Request freight quotes and schedule transportation for outbound freight for capital equipment
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety regulations and customs clearance
- Assist in packaging splicing equipment for domestic and international travel
- Serve as a backup in the receiving department to cover PTO or a large influx of goods
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a warehouse environment
- International shipping experience preferred
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn quickly
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Capable of lifting 35 pounds
- Capable of standing on feet for an entire workday
- Able to climb and work from ladders
- Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety habits
- Able to drive forklifts and utilize overhead cranes as necessary to perform the job safely and efficiently
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
