We are seeking a knowledgeable, customer-focused Automotive Paint Counter Salesperson to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting customers with automotive paint, body shop supplies, and related product needs. The ideal candidate has experience in automotive refinishing, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Service & Sales
- Greet and assist walk-in and phone-in customers with paint orders, product inquiries, and technical questions.
- Recommend appropriate products, materials, and color-matching solutions based on customer needs.
- Generate sales orders, process transactions, and maintain accurate records.
- Build strong customer relationships with body shops, dealerships, and independent technicians.
Product Knowledge & Technical Support
- Provide guidance on automotive paint systems, mixing ratios, application techniques, and surface preparation.
- Perform basic color matching using formulas, paint chips, and mixing equipment.
- Stay up to date on product lines, industry trends, and new technologies.
Inventory & Store Operations
- Maintain adequate stock levels of paints, primers, clearcoats, abrasives, tools, and related supplies.
- Receive, stock, and organize inventory to ensure easy access and efficient workflow.
- Keep the counter area, tinting room, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Assist with inventory counts and ordering as needed.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the sales team and store management to meet goals.
- Communicate customer needs, product issues, or emerging trends to leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive paint, body shop supplies, or related automotive retail.
- Basic understanding of automotive refinish products and color-matching principles.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Computer proficiency (POS systems, mixing software, email, etc.).
- Previous experience mixing tintable automotive paint.
- Familiarity with major brands (Transtar & Axalta)
- Valid driver’s license for occasional deliveries.
