Machine Operator - 2nd/3rd Shift
The Machine Operator is an entry-level position with no certification required. The purpose of this role is to learn and train on the basic understandings of all Machining specific operations.
As a Machine Operator, you will have the opportunity to set up and operate a variety of CNC and manual machines to produce precision parts with immediate supervision by a certified machine operator (level II or above). You will follow established standard work under immediate supervision in efforts to obtain certification within 120 days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn how to set up and operate precision manual and/or computerized machining centers according to standard work.
- Learn how to adjust machine feed/spindle speeds and the changing of tooling and cutters per machining.
- Learn how to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Understand and follow quality testing techniques. Learn how to inspect product using precision gauges, measuring instruments and equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Manufacturing Documentation and Labor Transactions.
- Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.
- Actively participates in the Continuous Improvement process as well as safety related activities.
- Working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business
- Some Holiday hours may be required based on business need
Requirements:
- Typically requires HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing background
- Manual dexterity to perform tasks associated with machine operations
- Ability to learn how to read and understand prints.
- Computer experience (email, print documents, internet) and ability to learn how to operate a computer to access prints and/or specified work instructions
- Basis shop math including knowledge of Geometric Tolerances
- Basis knowledge with identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems
- Ability to learn basics of the position within first 3 months of employment
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management
