What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiologic Technologist position at Butler Ambulatory Surgery Center?
Job Description:
Under the direction of the surgeon, the radiology tech performs routine and special radiographic procedures by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs. Will utilize independent judgement in the performance of diagnostic imaging procedures in the surgical setting.
Training will also be provided for the role of medical records/front office tasks.
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Registered and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART)
- Ability to make independent decisions using critical thinking and problem solving while being able to perform responsibilities during stressful situations.
- Meet technical requirements
- Possess professional oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and flexible with scheduling and assignments
- Works as a member of the healthcare team including physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in diagnostic testing procedures utilizing fluoroscopy during surgery
- Utilize a fluoroscopic unity to image patients in certain procedures as outlined in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists practice standards document, state certification requirements and institutional practice parameters
- Perform specialized procedures for diagnosis and assistance in the design of treatment for patients
- Adheres to medical and surgical asepsis and standard precautions as required per procedure
- Performs mobile and surgical procedures to assist with patient diagnosis in the surgical suites
- Performs clerical duties, transports patients as required, processed images and maintains proper inventory of supplies
- Assists in the clinical education of other healthcare professionals at BASC
- Assists with quality control/performance improvement measures as required
- Maintains licensure and certification through continuing education
- Performs diagnostic procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care, including:
-proper positioning/centering of part or patient
-proper technical factor selection-proper image/patient identification
-proper use of image receptors-professional patient care and assessment
-proper radiation protection provided for patient/staff/general public-proper documentation maintained
Pay: From $1.00 per hour
