Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher role based in Hartsville, SC. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), teaching and modifying lesson plans for students with varying abilities, and providing specialized instruction to meet the educational needs of students with disabilities. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with parents, teachers, and support staff to create a positive learning environment, monitoring and assessing student progress, and ensuring compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in Special Education and supporting students with Disabilities
- Skilled in Teaching, with a focus on differentiated instruction and adaptable lesson planning
- Familiarity with Middle School education and age-appropriate teaching strategies
- Strong Communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively
- State certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification
- Demonstrated ability to implement IEPs and maintain compliance with special education policies
- Passion for fostering an inclusive academic community rooted in equity and empathy
