Job Summary

Butcher Power Products is seeking a Senior Facilities Technician to join our growing Facilities team in Rancho Cordova, California.

We manufacture switchgear and low-voltage electrical distribution equipment that powers critical infrastructure across North America. As BPP continues its rapid growth, this position will play a key role in supporting our expanding operations and maintaining the facilities that keep our business running.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for supporting approximately 192,500 square feet of manufacturing, assembly, testing, warehouse, and office space across multiple locations within the Sacramento region. The Senior Facilities Technician serves as BPP's facilities generalist, partnering with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure our facilities remain safe, reliable, and ready to support production.

A major focus of this role will be supporting the opening, readiness, and ongoing maintenance of BPP's new 82,500-square-foot manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will help manage punch-list activities, coordinate vendors and contractors, oversee facility installations, and support equipment relocation efforts while maintaining existing facilities.

We're looking for someone with a strong construction, facilities maintenance, or contracting background who can independently assess building issues, determine the appropriate solution, and either complete repairs or coordinate qualified vendors when specialized work is required. The ideal candidate is resourceful, safety-focused, customer-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining facilities that support world-class manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support readiness and occupancy of new facility locations, including punch list completion and installation activities.

  • Execute preventive maintenance programs and document completed work.
  • Respond to and close work orders within established service levels.
  • Maintain maintenance shops, tools, parts inventory, and consumables.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, service providers, and facility vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and facility safety standards.
  • Identify, correct, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain required certifications and training.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of hands-on building maintenance, construction, or contracting experience.
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, door hardware, minor plumbing, and minor electrical repair.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve building-related issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Experience working on construction, renovation, or facility improvement projects.
  • Ability to determine when work requires licensed contractors or permits.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance and work order documentation.
  • Valid California driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.

Desired Qualifications

  • General contractor, superintendent, or lead carpenter experience.
  • Experience supporting facility relocations, expansions, or build-outs.

  • Forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift, or overhead crane certifications.
