The Role
The HR Director at HTG Hospitality is both a strategic leader and a hands-on partner. This role balances two equally important areas of responsibility:
- Compliance & Benefits — ensuring HR processes, policies, and benefit programs are compliant, equitable, and accessible.
- People & Culture — nurturing a workplace rooted in respect, growth, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all HR functions, including compliance, employee relations, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management.
- Serve as a resource to restaurant managers and operations leaders, equipping them to handle day-to-day HR questions and employee concerns.
- Lead open enrollment and manage benefit programs (health, retirement, PTO, leave administration).
- Partner with leadership to foster a values-driven, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, SOPs, and training programs that ensure compliance and support team growth.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Partner with ownership on strategic initiatives, workforce planning, and culture-building projects.
- Act as a trusted advisor to staff at all levels.
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in hospitality or related industry.
- Familiarity with independent restaurant operations strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in compliance, benefits management, and employee relations.
- Proven ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and discretion.
- Strong organizational and process-improvement skills.
- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
