Duties
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through diligent data entry, inventory control, and warehouse management practices using ERP systems such as AS400 or similar order management systems.
- Assist customers, technicians, and suppliers by providing expert advice on OEM parts, auto body repair components, HVAC parts, and other automotive supplies.
- Manage procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation with suppliers, pricing strategies, demand planning, and purchasing to ensure timely availability of parts.
- Oversee shipping & receiving operations, ensuring proper handling of parts during inbound and outbound logistics while adhering to safety standards like forklift operation.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical knowledge to identify parts requirements accurately and support automotive service or equipment repair needs.
- Collaborate with supply chain management teams to optimize warehouse space, improve order management workflows, and streamline procurement procedures.
- Support the use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking equipment maintenance parts and inventory levels.
Experience
- Proven experience in inventory control within an automotive dealership
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including sourcing, procurement management, demand planning, and logistics coordination.
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes—including auto body repair—OEM parts sourcing, and automotive diagnostics tools.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with negotiation abilities to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Mechanical aptitude with a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate data entry and inventory accuracy across multiple platforms like CMMS or ERP systems.
