We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment for young children. Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote childhood development and learning.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure safety at all times.
- Support children with daily routines such as diapering, toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily experiences to foster strong partnerships.
- Follow all mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of children in accordance with legal requirements.
- Support classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and social skills development.
Requirements
- At least 18 yrs of age and HS diploma
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool, daycare, nannying, babysitting, or similar setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of child development instruction and early childhood education principles.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members while maintaining professionalism.
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
- Classroom management skills combined with patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
