Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Early Childcare Director to lead and inspire our early childhood education programs. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education, and foster a nurturing environment where young children can thrive. Your leadership will shape the educational experience for children, support staff development, and uphold the highest standards of safety, curriculum, and compliance. Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of age-appropriate curricula that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. In charge of ordering and approving teacher planners.
  • Manage daily center operations (45 children), including staffing schedules, enrollment processes, and resource allocation to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Supervise and support teaching staff through ongoing training, performance evaluations, and mentorship to maintain a motivated and professional team.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and organizational policies to provide a secure environment for children and staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with families by communicating regularly about their child's progress, addressing concerns promptly, and encouraging family engagement. Plan community outreach and education opportunities for families.
  • Oversee budgeting, record keeping, and administrative tasks related to program management while maintaining accurate documentation for regulatory purposes. Help with advertising, hiring and employee retention.
  • Promote a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that values diversity and encourages community involvement within the center.
  • Stay informed about current trends in early childhood education through professional development opportunities to continually enhance program quality.

Requirements

  • Higher education teaching experience or a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred. BA or MA preferred plus at least 5 years teaching experience.
  • Proven experience in education administration within early childhood or preschool settings. Ability to teach in classroom when needed.
  • Prior university or higher education experience is advantageous for curriculum development or staff training roles.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience working directly with young children across various developmental stages with varying needs.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and build collaborative teams. Facilitate monthly staff meetings.
  • Knowledge of licensing requirements, health regulations, safety protocols, and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with families, staff, licensing agencies, and community partners. Familiar with NAEYC requirements.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
