Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment and encouraging good behavior through effective behavior management techniques.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards, including following mandated reporting laws when necessary.
- Provide first aid or pediatric first aid when needed, ensuring children receive prompt and appropriate care.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute developmental activities tailored to individual needs, including those with special education requirements or disabilities.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar settings is required with 2500 hours of documented experience.
- Knowledge of childhood development instruction and early childhood education principles is essential.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a valuable asset.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies is important.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, and team members in a professional manner.
- Previous nannying or babysitting experience that involved caregiving for infants or toddlers will be considered beneficial as long as hours are documented.
