Duties
- Conduct basic minor diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify vehicle issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles such as engine tune-ups, transmission system repairs, vehicle suspension system repairs, wheel alignments, and electrical wiring diagram interpretation.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to accurately troubleshoot complex automotive problems.
- Repair or replace vehicle components including power tools-assisted repairs on engines, transmissions, axles, and vehicle suspension systems.
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs, estimated timeframes, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed service records and complete auto estimating documentation for each job performed.
Experience
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, and interpreting vehicle electrical systems.
- Mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmissions, diesel engines, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and other repair equipment effectively.
- Prior experience working with GM and Ford vehicles or similar makes is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong customer service skills combined with technical proficiency to deliver exceptional mobile service experiences.
