Business Development and Relations Specialist

Job Title: Business Development and Relations Specialist
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: VP Sales & Marketing
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary: Work closely with VP Sales & Marketing and the entire BCSI team to initiate and facilitate the successful realization of BCSI’s sales growth goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Development

  • Prospect, qualify, and generate sales proactively with existing and potential trading partners. * Respond to RFPs with quotes, pricing, proposals, and creative solutions for customer needs. * Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers. * Provide potential customers with expected lead times and implementation steps for new accounts. * Maintain contact lists for prospects and customers. * Make cold calls to distributor’s representatives.

Field Sales & Industry Engagement

  • Give presentations in-person and via webinar to distributors and customers, including tours. * Travel to and proactively participate in trade shows, industry events, networking events, lunch & learn and sales meeting presentations. This position requires periodic business travel, both independently and with team members, several times throughout the year. Travel may occasionally involve consecutive trips * Requires travel alone and/or with coworkers up to 12 times per year. * Identify and pursue opportunities for in-person customer interaction, including industry associations relevant to BCSI’s business growth goals.

Marketing and Communication

  • Transfer knowledge and communicate customer details to Account Managers. * Communicate professionally with customers/distributors via phone/email/webinar or in-person regarding account setup and ongoing needs. * Create content for social media, website, blog, marketing collateral, case studies, and videos to promote BCSI's brand and educate customers. * Design and assemble marketing materials, samples, and presentation kits for distributors/customers. * Coordinate production of sales and marketing materials, managing distribution and inventory. * Establish and maintain consistent corporate image throughout promotional materials and events.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture long-term customer relationships through active listening, demonstrating patience, detail-orientation, and a service-minded approach to identify needs and create lasting partnerships. * Methodically approach account expansion by analyzing customer data and purchasing patterns to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts. * Proactively reach out to existing and potential customers and distributors to grow their business with BCSI. * Ensure customer satisfaction by working with production and other departments when quality and service issues arise.

Product and Industry Knowledge

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of BCSI's product offerings, sweet spots, and key differentiators. * Learn about competitors and conduct price comparisons to effectively position BCSI solutions. * Understand various technology solutions, integrations, and implementation processes to effectively communicate options to customers. * Stay current on industry best practices and standards through active participation in industry associations. * Communicate the benefits of automating processes using technology solutions to distributor partners. * Previous print industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: You need either: * A Bachelor's degree (Marketing or related field preferred), or * Three to five years of related experience, or * A combination of education and experience * Print and Promo experience is a plus

Language Ability: Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including ability to create professional content, respond to inquiries, and present information effectively to various audiences.

Math Ability: Proficiency with mathematical concepts including percentages, ratios, and proportions for business applications and financial analysis.

Reasoning Ability: Strong analytical skills with ability to solve problems, evaluate options, and work with abstract concepts.

Computer Skills: * Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, , Teams, Outlook, Internet Explorer), Adobe Suite and Wordpress are a plus * Various In-house Systems (OPS, etc.) * Canva
