Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Career Advisor to join our team. As a Career Advisor, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals in finding meaningful employment opportunities. Your expertise and guidance will help them navigate the job market and develop the necessary skills for success. Responsibilities: - Conduct interviews and assessments to understand the individual's career goals, interests, and abilities - Provide career counseling and guidance - Develop personalized employment plans tailored to each individual's needs and goals - Assist individuals in identifying job opportunities and connecting with potential employers - Provide opportunities for occupational training and additional support in areas including job search strategies, resume writing, interview skills, and workplace etiquette - Stay up-to-date on employment labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance - Collaborate with other professionals, to provide comprehensive support to customers. Target population of customers served by this Career Advisor position is individuals 18-24 years old.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or related experience in education, counseling, or social services. WIOA experience a plus.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Ability to quickly gather, organize, and analyze information and produce reports.
- Excellent communication and counseling skills.
- Overall knowledge of grant regulations and the importance of compliance, or ability to learn quickly.
- Team orientation with respect for others, as well as ability to work independently when necessary.
- Ability to work well with individuals of various social and economic backgrounds.
- Must be willing to travel occasionally between main office in Wheeling and other offsite locations for programming (Travel reimbursement will be provided).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
