The Regional Director of Spa provides strategic leadership, financial oversight, and brand alignment for soon-to-be five independent spas within the Meritage Collection (MC) portfolio.
This position would be based out of either Meritage Resort (Napa, CA) or Pasea Hotel & Spa (Huntington Beach, CA) with direct oversight of that property’s operations plus the regional oversight of other MC spas.
This role ensures consistent guest experience, financial performance, and operational standards across all properties while fostering innovation, wellness programming, and revenue growth. Additionally, this person is the primary link between property spa teams and corporate leadership — optimizing profitability, talent, and guest engagement across California, Hawaii, and Texas operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and mentor Spa Directors/Managers across five resorts, ensuring excellence in service, training, and operational efficiency.
- Implement standardized SOPs, service protocols, and brand wellness standards across the collection.
- Develop annual and long-range spa business strategies aligned with the Meritage Collection vision.
- Conduct quarterly site visits and monthly performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- Own and analyze portfolio-level financial performance — including P&L review, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Optimize revenue through pricing strategies, menu engineering, labor modeling, and retail margin management.
- Identify new revenue channels: memberships, wellness experiences, partnerships, and group spa programs.
- Drive portfolio targets: 8–12% annual revenue growth, 18% retail share, and ≤42% service labor cost.
- Oversee implementation of dynamic pricing, yield management, and digital booking strategies.
- Ensure consistent compliance with licensing, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Manage shared vendor contracts, product assortments, and capital planning for equipment and renovations.
- Standardize KPIs and reporting dashboards across all properties.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top spa leaders and therapists across all locations.
- Establish quarterly training workshops and cross-property educational exchanges.
- Create incentive programs tied to guest satisfaction, revenue, and retail performance.
- Foster a culture of wellness, teamwork, and accountability.
- Ensure that each spa’s concept aligns with its resort’s positioning while maintaining a unified “Meritage Wellness” identity.
- Partner with Marketing to create and approve campaigns, packages, and digital assets.
- Curate unique experiences reflective of each destination — from Napa wine-infused rituals to coastal recovery and Hawaiian healing traditions.
- Maintain guest satisfaction scores ≥90% and NPS ≥ 60 across the portfolio.
- Collaborate with property GMs, F&B Directors, Rooms Division, and Revenue teams on integrated guest programs.
- Serve as the liaison with corporate finance, HR, and sustainability teams.
- Represent the collection at wellness events, trade shows, and industry partnerships.
- Minimum 5-7 years of spa and wellness management experience, including multi-property oversight preferred.
- Proven track record of delivering double-digit revenue growth and operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of luxury spa trends, retail strategy, membership programs, and team development.
- Financial acumen in P&L management, forecasting, and labor modeling.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
- Willingness to travel quarterly to other Meritage Collection locations.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced wellness or hospitality certifications a plus.
