Transportation Mechanic ll
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Non-Exempt; 12-months; 40 hours per week; Full Time
SALARY: NC 07-08
QUALIFICATIONS: CDL Class A or B with passenger, school bus, and tanker endorsements required; working knowledge of vehicle operation and maintenance; skill to perform tasks associated with engine maintenance, tire replacement, fuel dispensing, and washing vehicles, experience/knowledge of automotive air conditioning, ability to follow oral and written instructions; willing to be a team player. Must obtain NC school bus inspection certification within 90 days of employment. Must obtain underground site tank inspection certification in an appropriate time frame set by Transportation Director. Paint and Body repair experience preferred. Must be able to adhere to all OSHA regulations while preforming daily tasks.
DUTIES: Perform duties in the operation, repair and maintenance of vehicles in the school transportation program; Will be going out to preform early winter-time road inspections; Must have the ability to work independently during roadside repairs; Other duties as assigned by Director of Transportation.
