Substitute Bus Driver

JOB DESCRIPTION

BUS DRIVER

This position is responsible to the Director of Transportation.  The Bus Driver has responsibility for providing safe and efficient student transportation.

1. To maintain discipline when students are on the bus and report undisciplined students to the principal.
2. To keep assigned bus clean.
3. To keep assigned bus schedule.
4. To inspect bus daily before each operation for mechanical defects.
5. To notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
6. Obey all traffic laws.
7. To observe all mandatory safety regulation for school buses.
8. To discharge students only at authorized stops.
9. To exercise responsible leadership when on District school trips.
10. To transport only authorized students and personnel.  This includes regular routes and field trips.
11. To report all accidents and complete required reports.
12. To enforce regulations set forth by the district and by State Transportation Department.
13. To perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
14. Must have a valid IVP Fingerprint Card.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

1. Have a valid Commercial License.
2. Have a temporary State Certificate before driving with children (for maximum first (6) months of employment
3. Have a state Certificate issued by the State of Arizona (within (6) months of employment) for school bus driving.
4. Attend Drivers meetings held by the District.
5. Have an annual physical between June 1^st and August 15^th of each year.
6. Know state rules and regulations on school buses and drivers.

Salary : $17 - $19
