This role serves as the operational backbone of the organization supporting Project Managers, leadership, and field teams by removing obstacles, improving systems, and enforcing best practices.The Operations Manager is expected to proactively identify risks, solve problems, and respond to urgent operational issues as they arise. Availability to support the team and business needs is critical.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Leadership & Process ManagementEnsure all company operations are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with applicable laws, contracts, and company policiesDevelop, implement, and continuously improve operational systems, workflows, and best practices across the organizationEnsure all active projects adhere to BDC’s defined project lifecycle, standards, and operating proceduresAct as the escalation point for operational issues impacting schedule, cost, quality, or client satisfactionProject Oversight & Performance ManagementOversee all in-flight projects to ensure consistency in execution, documentation, communication, and controlsConduct weekly and monthly Project Manager process reviews, including schedule health, budget status, risk items, and corrective actionsMonitor project performance metrics and dashboards; identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunitiesPartner with Project Managers to proactively resolve issues before they impact clients or financial outcomesFinancial & Resource ManagementTrack company-wide resource utilization, workload capacity, and staffing alignmentExamine financial and operational data to improve profitability, forecasting accuracy, and cost controlsManage operational budgets, project projections, and variance analysis in collaboration with leadershipSupport leadership with operational reporting and insights to inform decision-makingQuality Control & ComplianceProvide oversight for all incoming and outgoing subcontract agreements, contracts, invoices, and key operational communicationsEnsure documentation accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company standardsSupport quality control efforts to maintain high standards of workmanship and service deliveryPeople, HR & Cross-Functional SupportSupport recruiting, onboarding, training, and supervision of staff in partnership with leadership and HRAssist HR with onboarding processes, time-off coordination, and employee compliance mattersFoster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented culture across teamsIdentify training or process gaps and recommend improvementsCustomer ExperienceIdentify opportunities to improve the quality, consistency, and professionalism of customer serviceEnsure operational practices support strong client communication, transparency, and satisfactionPOSITION REQUIREMENTSMinimum 2 years of operations experience; construction industry experience strongly preferredConstruction Project Management experience is a significant plusStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsHigh level of reliability, integrity, and professionalismAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively seek out informationComfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing prioritiesStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teamsTechnical & Systems SkillsProficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)Experience with construction management software (e.g., Buildertrend) preferredComfortable learning and enforcing standardized processes and systemsABSOLUTE MUSTSExcellent communication skills and ability to engage, speak up and drive a conversation.Fluent in spoken and written English; bilingual a plusValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordReliable transportation and ability to travel locally between job sites and officesWorking in the office.
