What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Coder and Biller position at Burton Creek Rural Clinic?
Responsible for helping bridge the gap between provider and insurance companies and patients. Reviewing visit notes, medical records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures. Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement. Monitor claim status, follow up on unpaid claims, denials, filing appeals when appropriate. Speaking with payer and patients while following HIPAA regulations. Other duties include, but are not limited to collecting patient payments, entering/updating insurance information, scheduling appointments, sending messages, and answering the phones.
