What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) position at Burt's Pharmacy?
We are looking for a dependable Team Player. Pharmacy Technician roll assists the Pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions. This process includes but is not limited to:
- Greet customers and answer questions
- Accurately typing and billing prescriptions in an efficient manner
- Clearly communicate with patients regarding insurance and refill requests
- Reviewing new prescriptions for accuracy and completeness and bringing discrepancies to the pharmacist’s attention or following up with the provider if appropriate
- Answer phones and assist patients or re-direct as appropriate
- Contact doctor’s offices or hospitals to clarify prescription information
- Answer patient questions and address customer service issues when they arise
- Assist other staff members in maintaining a clean, clutter free work environment An important part of the job is to problem solve as a situation arises, but to also know when to ask for help so as to keep workflow going.
As a pharmacy team member you must be detail-oriented and reliable since the job has high responsibility. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
- Reliable with a keen eye for detail
- Experience in retail is a plus
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
