Burst Beans Coffee is an independent, community-focused coffee brand built around The Mindful Coffee Experience. We believe coffee can be more than a beverage, it can be a moment to pause, sip, reset and pour back into yourself.
Our Hackensack cafe is growing, and we're looking for an experienced barista who knows coffee, loves people and takes pride in creating an exceptional guest experience.

We're looking for someone who brings both technical coffee skills and genuine hospitality.
Our ideal candidate has:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of professional barista experience preferred
- Strong espresso preparation experience
- Experience working with commercial espresso machines and grinders
- Understanding of espresso extraction and dialing in
- Strong milk-steaming skills
- Ability to prepare classic espresso beverages consistently
- Experience with specialty or independent coffee preferred
- POS and cash-handling experience
- Strong customer-service skills
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized bar
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Strong communication and teamwork
- Early morning and weekend availability
- A positive, welcoming personality
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso beverages to Burst Beans quality standards
- Dial in espresso and communicate adjustments when needed
- Prepare hot and iced specialty beverages
- Execute Burst Beans signature drinks consistently
- Steam and texture milk properly
- Provide warm, personalized hospitality to every guest
- Educate customers about coffee and menu offerings
- Operate POS and process transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized and properly stocked bar
- Complete opening and closing procedures
- Follow food-safety and sanitation standards
- Restock products and communicate inventory needs
- Support the cafe team during peak periods with food prep, cleaning of the cafe, and promoting the offerings of the cafe to drive foot traffic and repeat customers. (including when down time allows; recording and taking photos of drinks)
- Represent the Burst Beans brand professionally in the community
