KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
- Review and analyze abstract and title documents in order to assist in preparation for commercial real estate closings
- Review loan documents from lenders for the purpose of preparing commercial real estate closings
- Draft closing disclosures, deeds, affidavits, legal descriptions, HUD, and other required closing documents
- Establish, organize and maintain files, closing documents, document binders, and lists
- Prorate taxes and other property assessments
- Conduct research and locate tax information, zoning, development regulations, and other information
- Assist in the preparation of closings by preparing executable closing documents, disbursement requests, and correspondence
- Serve as a liaison between clients, realtors, lenders, abstractors, title underwriter, and attorney
- Maintain and balance incoming and outgoing closing funds
- Other responsibilities as needed
- A bachelor’s degree, paralegal degree or certification, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least three years of experience in real estate transactions is required
- Proficiency in Qualia preferred; MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
- Highly organized, detail-orientated, proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team.
- Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations
- Strong communication and drafting skills
- Must work well in a collaborative legal team environment
- Some overtime may be required
