Office Dispatcher

Here at Burns Towing we are a small, family owned towing company that has been in business since 1962. We are looking for an additional member of our dispatch team to work the 9pm-9am shift Friday night to Saturday morning, Saturday night to Sunday morning, and Sunday night to Monday morning. You will be the only dispatcher in the office during these times, most of your interactions will be with customers over the phone, and drivers coming in to drop off paperwork. Usually a very quiet and peaceful shift that gets busy every once in a while on a Friday or Saturday night, Sundays are usually quiet. Your main responsibilities will be answering the phone, assisting customers and giving price quotes on tows, dispatching drivers to calls, and data entry. This is an overall nice/fun place to work, we have an awesome team here, most of our biggest complaints are grumpy customers (we tow cars for the City/State, not all of our customers are happy ones.) Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing the transportation and logistics operations. Your ability to effectively communicate, analyze data, and manage resources will contribute to the smooth and efficient flow of goods and services.

Duties:

- Receive and process customer orders for transportation services

- Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and other stakeholders to schedule pickups and deliveries

- Monitor transportation routes and track shipments to ensure timely delivery

- Analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize routes and minimize costs

- Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, delays, or changes

- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including order details, delivery confirmations, and driver logs

- Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure inventory availability and manage shipping/receiving processes

- Assist in fleet management activities such as vehicle maintenance, inspections, and fuel management

Skills:

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Proficiency in using various phone systems and dispatch software

- Knowledge of supply chain operations, transportation management, and logistics principles

- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on key performance indicators (KPIs)

- Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) processes is a plus

- Experience with SyteLine or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is preferred

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
