Duties
- Lead the planning and execution of volleyball practices, drills, and game strategies that enhance athletic performance and teamwork.
- Develop comprehensive training programs tailored to athletes' skill levels, emphasizing technical skills, sportsmanship, and physical conditioning.
- Foster a positive team environment by promoting respect, discipline, and good sportsmanship among players.
- Oversee game-day preparations, including scouting opponents, setting lineups, and managing in-game adjustments.
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to support student-athletes' academic success and personal growth.
- Implement behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and respectful environment during practices and competitions.
- Coordinate with other coaches for cross-training opportunities such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, or martial arts to enhance overall athletic development.
- Maintain accurate records of team progress, attendance, injuries, and other relevant data.
- Promote health club activities related to swimming or karate as part of the broader athletic program when applicable.
- Encourage student engagement in physical education activities beyond volleyball to develop well-rounded athletes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching with a focus on volleyball; prior experience as a head coach is highly desirable.
- Strong background in teaching physical education or related disciplines such as swimming, martial arts (judo, karate), cheerleading, or climbing.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds while managing behavior positively.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience working with children or adolescents in athletic or childcare settings.
- Excellent communication skills for coaching sessions, team meetings, and parent interactions.
