Description
A Construction Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations and support all phases of the construction site. This role is geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project.
- General labor and support of all phases of construction
- Responsible for the preparation, handling and supplying of materials to be used by other crafts
- Load and unload building materials, machinery and tools and distribute them to appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications
- Safely operate small equipment and powered hand tools
- Assisting all crafts in company in all areas
- Contribute to team productivity and a high-quality work product
- Clean and prepare construction sites for the next stage
- Comply with all safety requirements and participate in safety meetings
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Spotting on all activities
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- 6 months or less in the construction industry is preferred
- Must be able to assess through Burns and McDonnell assessment program
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, push and pull
- Ability to use repetitive hand motions and the ability to grasp and operate field tools and equipment
- Ability to climb on, in or through equipment in confined spaces and elevated work using fall protection harnesses
- Ability to work long hours with infrequent days off, night shifts, and in adverse climates
- Ability to use respirators or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
- Ability to utilize vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift, carry and or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in an environment with loud noises and vibrations for extended periods of time
- Ability to properly wear and/or use Personal Protection Equipment
COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
