We are seeking an Assistant GIS Systems Specialist to join our collaborative team. In this role, you’ll support GIS data development, analysis, and management for diverse projects, working closely with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality solutions. If you’re passionate about geospatial technology, teamwork, and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.
- Assist with GIS, data, and mapping for engineering and surveying projects, supporting both internal and external teams.
- Help produce technical specifications, project approaches, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Support GIS mapping and data collection tasks for project deliverables and field personnel.
- Utilize software tools (ArcGIS, MS Access, MS Excel) and various data sources to create GIS maps and support field operations.
- Assist with digital feature extraction, projections, and transformations for project deliverables.
- Contribute to GIS system needs assessments and implement improved work methods.
- Create and update GIS maps, layers, and GPS data using relevant technologies for field surveys.
- Support GPS data collection and post-processing for high-accuracy specifications.
- Assist with GIS metadata creation and design extensions/add-ins for GIS applications.
- Conduct land survey records searches and ownership data research.
- Support geo-reference data tasks and other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or closely related natural science Required
- Experience working in the ArcGIS desktop environment is required (ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 or higher a plus).
- Basic GIS skills, including data analysis abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
- Prior GPS and applicable natural science field experience a plus
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
