Construction Superintendent
A Construction Superintendent is needed at Burns Management. Responsible for support of capital improvement projects across our managed portfolio of properties. This hands-on role combines field supervision with self-performance of work, offering a dynamic opportunity for someone who thrives in both managing others and getting the job done directly.
The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for executing and overseeing a range of renovation and upgrade projects on occupied and operational properties. Working closely with the Project Manager, this person will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with high-quality results that align with company goals and resident satisfaction.

Wage Status: $34/hour
Job Responsibilities:
- Field Supervision & Work Execution:
- Oversee daily construction activity on-site while performing hands-on work as needed, including demolition, carpentry, painting, light plumbing/electrical, and punch-list tasks.
- Collaborate with Project Manager:
- Partner with the Project Manager to understand project goals, schedules, scopes of work, and overall execution plans.
- Subcontractor Oversight:
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality expectations, and deadlines.
- Purchasing Support:
- Assist with material takeoffs, procurement of supplies, and coordination of deliveries. Experience with purchasing processes is a strong plus.
- Schedule & Workflow Management:
- Maintain the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager, and ensure efficient sequencing of work across trades.
- Tenant & Property Coordination:
- Work closely with property managers and tenants to minimize disruption and maintain professionalism on active job sites.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate daily logs, take progress photos, and communicate updates and issues to the Project Manager regularly.
- Safety Compliance:
o Ensure job sites are clean, secure, and compliant with OSHA and internal safety policies.
· Any other related duties as requested by supervisory council and management.
o The responsibilities listed above are by no means all inclusive and can be modified as the supervisory & management team deem fit.
Essential Job Functions:
- Strong hands-on skills across multiple trades (e.g., carpentry, drywall, paint, basic plumbing/electrical)
- Ability to read plans and interpret construction documents
- Experience with purchasing, budgeting, and vendor coordination
- 3-5 years of construction experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Familiarity with construction/project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Monday.com, Smartsheet)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Demonstrate an ability to support and contribute to community team.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and negotiate stairs and ladders easily.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to smile under all circumstances.
- Participate in training to comply with new or existing laws.
- Neat, clean, professional always throughout the workday and/or whenever present at the community.
- Comply with expectations as demonstrated in the employee handbook.
- Demonstrate ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns to avoid escalation of the problem.
