Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw metal materials into precise, high-quality fabricated components used across various construction and industrial applications. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Operate various hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, pipe threading machines, and sheet metal shears to cut, shape, and assemble metal components.
- Perform welding using multiple techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and gas metal arc welding according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
- Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication of parts within specified tolerances.
- Use crane operations and construction site experience when handling large or heavy materials safely on-site or in the shop environment.
- Fabricate ductwork, piping systems, sheet metal assemblies, and other mechanical components adhering to safety protocols and quality guidelines.
- Conduct quality checks on fabricated parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments; document inspection results for compliance purposes.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area following safety procedures; adhere to all safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during fabrication processes.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction sites and metal fabrication environments.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints.
- Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, with knowledge of AWS standards.
- Ability to operate power tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and pipe threading machines safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with shop math and measurement instruments like calipers and micrometers.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to piping and pressure vessel fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork assembly, pipe threading, soldering, plasma cutting, and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols; capable of working both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for fabrication tasks.
