THE JOB
Burns Waste is hiring a Front Load Driver responsible for the safe and efficient operation of front load trucks to service commercial and construction customers. This role plays a key part in keeping operations running smoothly by ensuring timely pickups, safe transport, and professional customer interaction.
This position requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service, along with the ability to work independently and stay on schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate front-load and roll-off trucks to service assigned routes
- Pick up, transport, and deliver waste and recyclable materials to designated facilities
- Ensure proper loading, securement, and transport
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working condition
- Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards
- Accurately complete required documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch
- Place containers properly to avoid damage, obstruction, or safety issues
- Perform basic truck checks (fluids, tires, cleanliness) and report maintenance needs
- Keep equipment clean and presentable
- Provide professional, courteous service at all customer locations
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Valid CDL Class A
- Clean driving record and ability to pass MVR screening
- Ability to pass DOT drug screen, background check, and Clearinghouse query
- Experience operating front load trucks preferred
- Strong understanding of safety practices and DOT compliance
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in all interactions
