JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Attendant

REPORTS TO: Assistant Facilities Director

SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week. Days/times will vary based on the event schedule and will include nights, weekends and holidays.

  • You have 3 years of experience in a housekeeping or facilities maintenance role.
  • You are a great communicator.
  • You prefer a role that operates outside of M-F/9-5 constraints and gives the freedom of a varied schedule.
  • You are able to work individually as well as with a team.

  • Burning Tree Country Club is, first and foremost, a private golf club that places high importance on the creation of an open and family oriented environment.
  • The club was founded in 1962.
  • Our amenities include an 18-hole golf course which has hosted US Open Qualifiers and Met PGA events, an 8-lane 25-meter pool with a diving well, Har-Tru tennis courts, a platform tennis complex, and multiple member and event dining options. We have active junior programs in golf, tennis and aquatics and offer a summer camp.
  • We take pride in our daily ala carte service, as well as our first class events created by our Events & Banquets Team.
  • Our Food & Beverage department incudes various a la carte outlets (indoors and outdoors; i.e. The Grille Room, Founders Bar, Patio and Salons), catering to all members and guests needs according to established rules and etiquette.

As a member of the Maintenance & Housekeeping team, you will support the Maintenance/Housekeeping team, our Assistant Maintenance Director. You will support our Club brand by maintaining a professional presence to all staff and Members, performing various housekeeping and maintenance duties in support of Club events.

The Essentials

  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of storage space, hallway, elevator, offices, and all public areas as assigned.
  • Assisting with cleaning and moving furniture, as necessary.
  • Perform general cleaning duties, i.e., care for carpet, vacuuming, window cleaning, trash removal as per daily and weekly assignments.
  • Respond to member and supervisor requests in a timely fashion as assigned.
  • Report any damages or maintenance problems to the Supervisor.

  • Must work well as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Efficient and accurate preparation for assigned jobs.
  • Safe and efficient operation of maintenance equipment at all times, including following safe operating procedures and using appropriate action.
  • Knowledge and observation of maintenance standards at all times.
  • Be attentive to details
  • Avoiding unnecessary equipment breakdown and informing supervisor of any suspected problems.
  • Ability to work long hours, flexible shifts, indoors and outdoors as necessary.

The Standards

  • Previous experience in general maintenance / physical labor preferred.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Trained in proper chemical handling and Blood Borne Pathogens handling techniques desirable.
  • Conversational English: basic reading and writing skills to ensure proper communication with members and supervisors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to help and anticipate member and other department needs.
  • Highly active, multitasking type of environment. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8-hours in length.
  • Frequent Walking
  • Excellent physical fitness, visual acuity, and sense of urgency to attend to Member’s needs. Must be able to reach above head shoulder height to perform job duties and perform various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Physical work requirements: Ability to lift, bend, carry, and exert up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to lift / transport up to 50 pounds. Push/pull carts or equipment up to 250 pounds.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
  • This position requires working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
