Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team in a dynamic yacht club located in the heart of museum campus. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This position requires a strong background in food service management, with a focus on staff training, budgeting, and event coordination.
Duties
- Act consistently with the mission, vision, and values of BPYC.
- Assist in reviewing financial statements, sales reports, and KPI Dashboards to identify cost reduction opportunities and program improvements.
- Manage day-to-day operational activities, including oversight of restaurant and bar services, cleanliness standards, and member experiences.
- Create, review, and manage hourly staff schedules ensuring appropriate coverage.
- Support budget preparation and monitoring on a yearly, quarterly, and periodic basis.
- Monitor controllable expenses to align with budgetary guidelines.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and disciplinary processes for staff.
- Supervise bar operations, ensuring profitability and exceptional member service.
- Provide hands-on leadership and coaching for employees to achieve operational goals.
- Communicate operational challenges and proposed solutions to the Board of Directors
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendor partners.
- Compile operational reports for weekly and monthly board reviews.
- Facilitate training and implement operational changes and new policies as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently met.
- Encourage open communication among team members, club members, and vendors.
- Participate actively in community engagement activities to promote BPYC within the boating community.
- Foster a positive workplace culture emphasizing teamwork, empowerment, service excellence, and enjoyment.
- Lead by example.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of two (2) years managerial experience in hospitality, restaurants, or similar industries.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
