Job Summary
Burn Boot Camp Stone Oak is seeking a dedicated Childwatch Employee to provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children while their parents participate in fitness classes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing children's activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering positive development through play and learning. Duties
- Supervise children during fitness classes and open gym times, ensuring their safety at all times
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote physical activity, social interaction, and developmental growth
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques
- Maintain a clean and organized childcare area, including sanitizing toys and equipment regularly
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's participation and any concerns that arise
- Assist with special needs or behavioral challenges by applying appropriate childhood development strategies
- Support children in developing social skills through guided play, tutoring, or educational activities
- Follow all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary, to ensure a secure environment for children
Requirements
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, tutoring, camp counseling, or babysitting is preferred
- Knowledge of classroom management and behavior management techniques
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to employment
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage children positively
- Ability to handle multiple children simultaneously while maintaining patience and professionalism
- Experience with special education or teaching is desirable but not required
- Must have CPR certification
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours during class times
