Innovation Engineer III

**Position Overview** The Innovation Engineer III is a forward-thinking technologist on the IT Innovation team. This senior role is primarily responsible for discovering and implementing new technologies such as AI/ML, Cloud Computing, IoT and Automation throughout our Store, Distribution Center/Supply Chain, and Merchandising organizations. This individual will be a highly skilled developer that identifies and present ideas/solutions to problems from our business stakeholders. They will consistently develop results under loosely-defined and rapidly evolving requirements. They are expected to have knowledge of our front-end code, back-end infrastructure. In addition to being an enthusiastic full stack developer, this individual will help grow the technical skills of the Innovation team. **A Day In The Life** **Innovation** Support a fast paced, results driven, engineering culture focusing on implementing emerging technologies such as: Generative AI Cloud Computing IoT Automation Mobile Applications Machine Learning Empower our business partners with novel solutions and modern applications. Perform continuous research on emerging technologies and identify areas of opportunities where they can be implemented Work to become proficient in several common development areas such as: API Development (FastAPI, NodeJS) Web Development (Vue, Angular) Scripting (Python, Powershell, Shell Scripting) Databases (SQL and NoSQL) **IT Development Skills and Growth** Assumes responsibility for own personal development and continuous learning with manager including keeping abreast on new technology, methods and regulations related to responsibilities. Make strides in learning and applying infrastructure concepts such as network, containerization, and cybersecurity as necessary for delivering solutions _._ **Leadership and Project Management** Act as peer leader in technical situations Maintain regular communications both written and oral regarding project status, problems, and goals to key stakeholders, including management, and business partners. Strong presentation skills, with the demonstrated ability develop and present business cases to various audiences, including senior leadership. Demonstrate the ability to influence decisions and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders as well as mentor junior engineers/interns. Manage small project timelines with vendors to ensure deliverables meet deadlines. **You'll Come With** **Experience:** 5 years work experience in related field required. Experience with enterprise applications, especially in areas of AI, ML, Automation, and Cloud Technologies Background in software development especially in the areas of web development, API development, Python, and Android. • Working technical experience with servers, databases, enterprise grade applications, network, etc. **Skills and Abilities:** Ability to problem solve and apply critical thinking to problems in a loose requirements environment.
