- Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance coverage, and manage appointment scheduling using Open Dental Software.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear information and directing calls appropriately.
- Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance verifications, and process claims efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Assist with billing dental procedures.
- Manage patient intake forms, update health information in EHR system, and prepare documentation for clinical review.
- Support office management tasks such as scheduling follow-up appointments, and managing office supplies to ensure a well-organized front desk environment.
- Prior experience working in a dental or healthcare office setting is highly preferred, but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and health information management software Open Dental.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key typing), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, dental billing procedures, CDT coding, and insurance verification processes.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Previous clerical experience in a healthcare setting involving documentation review and front desk operations will be advantageous.
