Burlington Housing Authority (BHA) in Burlington, VT is seeking a full time Property Management Administrative Assistant/ Receptionist to serve as first point of contact for our customers in the Property Management office. This role greets applicants and the general public at the main office, collects rent payments, provides administrative support to the Leasing and Eligibility Specialist, the Property Managers, and the Director of Property Management.
Qualifications
- Candidates must be a high school graduate or an equivalent
- Have three years previous office experience.
- Candidates should have proficient computer skills, including windows-based word processing, spreadsheet and database use.
- Experience in federally assisted housing programs or property management preferred.
- Candidates must possess outstanding organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be adept at fostering positive and collaborative relationships with staff, residents, vendors and community agencies
- Be sensitive to the needs of low-income households, elderly and disabled individuals.
Physical Activities
Constantly:
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hand, and/or fingers
- Using office equipment such as computers, fax machines, mail machines, and phones
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
Occasionally:
- Ascending or descending stairs, and the like.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 25 pounds in all directions
- Operating motor vehicles for business purposes
