Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for timely and accurate updates to existing GIS datasets, including but not limited to public safety needs, Assessor’s office needs, and departmental GIS needs.
- Administer the Esri system including patches, updates, and user administration.
- Perform GIS procedures and interpret GIS data.
- Create maps and other visual tools using Esri and the City’s open data portal (powered by Esri).
- Assists users across departments with GIS tools.
- Assists staff with troubleshooting GIS issues, resolving problems in the operation and usage of GIS applications and data.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with and knowledge of the Esri GIS system.
- A combination of education, training, and experience that provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel to fulfill the essential functions of the job.
- Experience in ArcGIS Enterprise deployment, Server and Portal for ArcGIS.
- Initiative, creativity, and attention to detail required.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills required.
- Superior customer service skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules, and personnel policies.
