What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Initiative Specialist (QIS)- Child Care Centers position at BURLINGTON COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP, INC.?
Candidates MUST have 3-5 years of experience in an Early Childhood setting and a BA in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Overview:
Provide licensed child care centers in early care and education with professional development training, technical assistance, on-site/virtual coaching and mentoring as part of the Grow NJ Kids continuous improvement cycle. Recruitment of new providers and marketing by facilitating meetings, attending conferences, workshops and other opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- As needed, assist programs with completing enrollment in the NJ Workforce Registry for all required staff.
- Provide a Grow NJ Kids Overview and discuss framework with enrolled program staff.
- Review and discuss Licensing Status.
- Conduct site visits as needed
- Review and discuss the programs’ self-assessed Environmental Rating Scores and provide reflective feedback.
- Attend professional development trainings on coaching, mentoring, and other topics as related.
- Attend quarterly regional meetings with DFD, the regional County Collaborative and the TAC (for case conferencing).
- In addition to program visits, provide unlimited support to administrators in the form of email and phone conferences.
- Track and digitally document programs’ progress through the initial steps of Grow NJ Kids.
- Submit required reports to DFD.
- Responsible for introducing the Technical Assistance Specialist and transitioning the program to the Regional Technical Assistance Center.
- Active in the NJ Workforce Registry.
- Attend DFD/DHS approved trainings.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children or in special education is preferred
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques
- Understanding of childhood development principles
- Ability to educate and engage children in age-appropriate activities
- Experience working with students or nannying is beneficial
Requirements:
At a minimum, a Bachelor of Education or related field (i.e. Early Childhood Education or any other field related to child growth & development.
Must have experience with administering structured classroom observation tools (ITERS & ECERS), and developmentally appropriate screenings and performance-based assessments.
